This year, Clariant exhibited at in-cosmetics Asia with a range of high-performance ingredients, strengthened by the recent acquisition of supplier Lucas Meyer Cosmetics. Minimalist beauty and simplicity are among the common features of these ingredients.
Fewer products and simplified skincare routines are now in demand, with a beauty concept that can be summed up as: "less is more", thanks to innovative ingredients that focus on improving performance.
One of Clariant's flagship products at in-cosmetics Asia, the versatile Hostacerin CCT, is part of this emerging minimalist trend. This easy-to-use emulsifier has a wide range of applications with cold mixing, enabling the creation of stable, low-viscosity skin care and wet wipes. Skin hydration can be significantly improved with just 10 % of Hostacerin CCT according to Clariant.
Another flagship range from specialty chemist is the Eclipsogen CAP series, the first encapsulated UV filter blends produced using Clariant's Nanocon technology. Even at low concentrations in formulations, Eclipsogen CAP enables high SPF values to be achieved in sunscreen products. Cold-processable, it is easy to formulate and compatible with sunscreen ingredients, leaving no white trace.
Also featured at in-cosmetics Asia: the Genadvance series of hair conditioning ingredients targeting various hair problems. The range has been developed to give formulators access to more product options and claims. It is versatile and can be used in all hair care product formats, rinse-off or leave-in.
The Pickmulse emulsifier was also launched at in-cosmetics Asia. Based on Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant's patented quinoa starch technology, this new-generation surfactant-free 2-in-1 emulsifier enhances the sensorial attributes of formulations, while enabling customizable encapsulation systems.
Pickmulse was presented alongside Corneopeptyl (skin barrier reinforcement) and CycloRetin (natural alternative to retinol), other new products from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics.
In-cosmetics Asia was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 5 to 7, 2024.
