Dow, Brivaplast and TecnoGi collaborate on a circular solution for the luxury goods industry

SURLYN-caps-PCD

Global specialist in materials science, Dow has announced a collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi to keep high-quality materials in the circuit longer: perfume caps made from Dow's Surlyn resin that don't meet manufacturer Brivaplast's strict production standards will be transformed by TecnoGi into components for high-end footwear and leather goods.

Dow currently supplies Surlyn resin - renowned for its crystal-clear transparency and outstanding performance - to Brivaplast, a leading manufacturer of cosmetics packaging who uses Surlyn to manufacture premium perfume caps. The production of luxury perfume caps must comply with strict quality standards, which sometimes result in inferior parts being discarded. These non-compliant parts, once discarded, are now transformed by TecnoGi, a leading innovator in the footwear and leather goods industry, for integration into high-end components for luxury footwear and leather goods.

"Our collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi comes at a time when demand for sustainable materials and packaging solutions continues to grow. At Dow, we recognize that our role is to go faster and further in finding solutions to accelerate the circular economy of plastics in European industries, and we know that our customers expect nothing less.said Imran Munshi, Global Consumer Market Segment Leader at Dow. We're proud to show what can be achieved by working together along the entire value chain, and the benefits to everyone of keeping valuable materials in the loop for longer."

"At Brivaplast, we maintain the highest quality standards for our products, said Marco Roda, Head of Business Development at Brivaplast. This collaboration enables us to meet these standards while minimizing production waste and contributing to a more sustainable future."

"We are delighted to be part of this initiative which not only supports our manufacturing processes, but also aligns with our sustainability goals. Turning manufacturing waste into valuable components for luxury footwear and leather goods is a win-win solution for all stakeholders."added Paola Zanetti, CFO at TecnoGi.

The French and American Gattefossé application laboratories spent a year co-developing four inspiring new formulas to stimulate the imagination and explore new horizons. This new collection aims to illustrate how rich, creamy textures can awaken all the senses, far beyond mere tactile sensation.

On the sweet side, for example, Matt'Cha Cream has a delicate, creamy texture, enriched with Emulium Mellifera MB. It aims to envelop facial skin in a soft, light veil. Compritol 888 CG MB adds a touch of creaminess, subtly structuring and thickening the fatty phase for a nourishing effect reminiscent of the richness of a creamy drink. Sirtuins, guarantors of cell longevity

SILAB_LONGEVICELL

To promote healthy aging, researchers have identified various mechanisms and markers capable of limiting the decline of biological functions. Sirtuins are among them. Their influence on longevity depends on the availability of the coenzyme NAD+essential for mitochondrial function and energy production, and AMPK, an energy sensor that guards cellular metabolism.

Thanks to new studies conducted on different models of epidermal and dermal aging, Silab has demonstrated the cross-disciplinary action of its Longevicell® active ingredient. on sirtuins 1, 3, 6 and 7 and their coactivators (NAD+ and AMPK). It thus has a positive effect on numerous mechanisms linked to ageing, notably by improving mitochondrial activity and limiting glycation and the onset of cell senescence.

Rapid anti-aging action for face and body

Thanks to its positive impact on these cellular mechanisms, Longevicell limits protein oxidation and increases cellular energy production in the epidermis, while improving the quality of the dermal matrix.

Silab reports that these effects can be seen as early as 14 days, with remarkable benefits for the face and body: the skin of Caucasian and Asian volunteers is smoother and the complexion brighter. What's more, after 28 days, the skin's elasticity and firmness are enhanced, and wrinkles are reduced. These benefits are perceived by the Caucasian volunteers themselves: 100 % of them consider their skin smoother (body) and more luminous (face), and 95% of them consider this skincare product to be anti-wrinkle.

A traced and secure supply of myrtle

For the development of Longevicell, Silab exploited the oligogalacturonans present in myrtle leaves. Native to the Mediterranean basin, this shrub has been prized for centuries for its ability to enhance beauty. In Antiquity, the Greco-Romans used its essential oil to prepare a floral water with the power to restore freshness and youthfulness to the complexion.

To ensure the sustainability of its supply chain, the company has sourced its raw materials from certified organic Moroccan suppliers. The company has also carried out a control audit on the production stages of the raw material, validating its quality and ensuring its traceability to the harvesting site.

Longevicell is a patented active ingredient recommended for all anti-aging face and body care products at a dose of 1 to 4 %. Available in aqueous solution, it is easy to formulate. It complies with biodiversity regulations and has a content of natural origin greater than or equal to 99.3% (ISO 16128). It complies with international cosmetics regulations (Europe, USA, China, Japan, etc.).

Consumer feedback integrated in real time into fragrance creation

ScentChat IFF

IFF announces the launch of its new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered search tool: ScentChat. The application connects directly to leading messaging platforms. It uses advanced semantic AI and natural language processing (NLP) to enhance the fragrance creation process by adding real-time consumer feedback, coupled with qualitative information.

"The ScentChat tool has been specifically developed to enable direct, real-time communication between consumers and fragrance designers via widely used platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger."said Valery Claude, Senior Vice-President, Innovation, Fragrance Creation and Design.

Breaking down barriers to co-creation

ScentChat offers the opportunity to reconcile consumers' sensory and subjective appraisals with the technical expertise needed to create fragrances. It's all about translating the emotions felt into relevant formulation ideas. A process that is usually difficult, time-consuming and costly.

"ScentChat reflects the dual nature of fragrance creation - combining human experience and technology to produce sensational results, said Clotilde Raz, Senior Manager, Global Human and Consumer Insights - Scent, at IFF. The app is a huge step forward, making innovation more effective, more immersive and more impactful. We're already sensing unique, consumer-appreciated creations from our fragrance artists, based on this exciting new resource!"

Using already familiar messaging apps, the ScentChat app captures feedback and leverages IFF's proprietary semantic AI and NLP algorithms to analyze inputs and instantly generate insight reports from which formulators can make informed decisions about ingredients and many other factors, based on accurate, up-to-date data in real time.

This process alone removes many of the hurdles typically associated with IFF consumer research, making it a cost-effective, accessible and scalable tool. The application offers an additional benefit by fostering a legitimate sense of community and collaboration with fragrance creators.
